Hermes Le Carnaval De Venise Silk Jacquard NIB
Le Carnaval de Venise by Hubert de Watrigant was first issued in 1993 and had to be renamed to Fetes Venitiennes due to a lawsuit filed by the City of Venice against Hermes in 1999. This is a stunning jacquard silk scarf with lute and guitar weave setting the stage for the various characters from a typical Venetian Carnival.
The Carnival in Venice dates back many centuries and has been and still is today an important event on the Venetian social calendar. Providing temporary anonymity and “erasing” social divisions in the past, along with fun and festivities, may have given rise to its immense popularity.
