Hermes Louveterie Royale Vintage Jacquard RARE w/Box
Classic Louveterie Royale was designed by Charles Hallo and first issued in 1961.
Louveterie Royale depicts a wolf hunt. The Royal Wolfcatcher was a prestigious office held at the French Court from the 15th through the 18th century.
It has never been re-issued and as Hermès has stopped producing jacquard scarves, the Louveterie Royale has become a favorite among collectors. Wolf hunting scenes against an off white, silk "H" jacquard background punctuated by hunter green and gold accents complete this wonderful composition in vibrant colors on fabulous vintage jacquard silk.
As jacquard silk scarves are very expensive to produce, Hermes has unfortunately stopped making these exquisite scarves. You can read more about the Hermès jacquard carré on my blog
